Last Night
I saw my first bar fight and drunk dialed for the first time.
What had I been doing with my life previously?
OK GO tonight; commence whiskey and dancing and general good timeyness.

Did you know:
that if you google “why do old people like smelt?” you don’t get any answers?
The internet is basically useless.

Tomorrow, Monday, oh most lovely Monday, shall henceforth be forever known and cherished as the day of Spider Baby, a most excellent cult black-comedy-horror starring the most fabulous Lon Chaney and Sid Haig, the latter of Rob Zombie fame. What is Spider Baby: Or the Maddest Story Ever Told about, (alternate titles: Cannibal Orgy, Attack of the Liver Eaters) you ask? Well, does it matter, I...
so i'm off to work, but
remember how great it was having a boyfriend on warm weekend spring days, drinking smoothies, playing frisbee, cuddling on cool, damp grass, green with life, not needing to do anything but lay your heads on each other’s chests, breathing slowly, giggling at inside jokes?
Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter....
– Kurt Vonnegut.
This will always be important.
(via synecdoche)
It’s gonna be a good day.

Chris, thank you for the explanation; it is only because of your kindness that my computer is intact and relatively unharmed. Excepting all the viruses from the lesbian bondage porn.
Just kidding, guys! I have a mac, we don’t get viruses, pssssh.

Because otherwise "Lost" conversations were going...
I was reminded of a story I had sort of started writing as my grandmother was telling me about my great-grandmother, who, during Prohibition, was making whiskey in her bathtub and selling it to the cops, which I thought was pretty neat. What was cooler was my mom’s response: “No one in our family ever decided to do anything by the books.” So now I have been messing around with...

sigh, edit #2:
Apparently Guam capsizing was meant to be a metaphor (Congressman Hank Johnson is a regular Mark fucking Twain, you see).
On a related note, my mother has more a problem with me moving to California than Ghana because she wholly believes that the entire state will break away and fall into the ocean.
Edit:
Strangely enough, I capitalized “church” in the previous post; does that mean I can play it in Scrabble now?!
More importantly: does anyone want to play (the original and proper version of) Scrabble with me?

wowsers, good afternoon, all.
Hello, new followers. How are you? I don’t know where you came from, but a lot of you are posting in languages I have no hopes of ever being able to read; so, far away, I’m guessing.
Onto business. Things found in memo section of phone, internet and drunken index cards this morning:
“Pick-ups rock. They also roll - buckle up.” (Missouri highway)
“I believe that if...

Found Poetry
From this post over at ecosystemlife, challenging we tumbling people to submit a poem, written using only the bits and pieces, the short gems and brilliant snippets made available to us on tumblr. Since I needed a way to procrastinate and had some time to kill while finishing my already-cold coffee this morning, I obliged, regardless of the fact that I have no talent for or claim to writing...
Unless you're already going to hell anyway. Which...
I saw my priest from seventh grade today, at Easter dinner, and he didn’t remember me, ha ha ha, right? Except that actually kind of hurt my feelings, but you can’t think “well, fuck you too, sir,” about a priest. Especially when he’s he chowing down on a ham and potato salad sandwich, because that’s just too fantastically weird to reprehend.
I lied, but I didn't mean to.
I got a wicked sunburn down south. Reading my first morning while drinking a cup of coffee. 9am. 20 minutes. Fuck me, right?
I also did not finish 2.5 books. No one had warned me that I’d end up re-reading most chapters of Murakami; that threw me off a bit. And the cover of the book says that he is “a striking experience in consciousness expansion,” but my consciousness does...
